Today is a sad day for the Delaware County Fallen Firefighter and EMS Memorial Committee. Today we pause to remember one of our own, Chief Cris Hansen.

Cris was a integral part of the creation of the Memorial and our committee. Although not designated as a line of duty death, his role in emergency services in and around DELCO, and his work with this Committee & the Memorial have left a lasting legacy in Rose Tree Park.

He was a great asset to our emergency services community, he will be greatly missed.

Cris is still in our hearts. For those on the younger side; in addition to being the long-time Chief of the Swarthmore F&PA, Cris was the Chief of the Taylor Hospital ALSU for many years before being promoted to the role of Community Liason for CKHS EMS; and retired with the rank of EMS Chief when he became ill. In addition to being a peer, Cris was a personal friend of my wife & I and is still missed.

Cris was such a good guy and is sorely missed 😢

He was a terrific teacher in emergency services, a great person sadly missed never forgotten 💙

He was a great paramedic and a great person

Today we pause to remember Firefighter Carroll Cloud of the Darby Fire Company No.1, Delaware County Station #4.

On this date, May 30th in 1919, Firefighter Cloud was working as part of a crew transporting the tank of a new chemical truck from the railroad station to the fire station. While traveling down Pine St., the weight shifted on the farmer's truck, the tank fell to the ground, atop of Firefighter Cloud. Firefighter Cloud died enroute to the hospital from his injuries.
